Isotropic NdFeB powder is referred in particular to the magnetic powder for bonded magnets. Manufacturing process of isotropic NdFeB powder is completely distinct from powder process of sintered Neodymium magnet. The powder fabricated by crushing casting strip or sintered Neodymium magnet does not have functional intrinsic coercivity under the same particle size as isotropic NdFeB powder. The molten alloy condenses to microcrystal or even amorphous structure at the cooling speed between 105 and 106℃/s under the inert gas condition, then grain size grow to tens or hundreds nanometers after crystallization treatment, thus obtained high intrinsic coercivity in the sub-micron grains which lower than single domain critical size of Nd2Fe14B. The powder made by melt-spun technology is belonging to polycrystalline powder and easy magnetization axis of each grain does not get strong alignment tendency. Thereby, powder is isotropic. Routine testing items of isotropic NdFeB powder include appearance, magnetic properties, particle size distribution (PSD), flowability, and apparent density. Magnetic properties are mainly characterized by B-H demagnetization curves. PSD has a certain impact on the product appearance and commonly tested by standard vibrating screen. Flowability and apparent density which measured by Hall Flowmeter have major influence on the further molding process. Both are measured by Hall Flowmeter.
