AlNiCo Bar Magnet

AlNiCo to obtain its name from the acronym of the principal elements used in the alloy, including Aluminum (Al), Nickel (Ni), and Cobalt (Co). AlNiCo magnet is much more sensitive to the demagnetization field in comparison with sintered Neodymium magnets and sintered Samarium Cobalt magnets. AlNiCo bar magnet is termed as the bar magnet due to the distance between two poles is larger than the pole face dimensions, then usually specified by length (L), width (W), and thickness (T). The most representative application of AlNiCo bar magnet is guitar pickup magnet and educational use in schools.

Permanence Coefficient of AlNiCo Bar Magnet

Permeance coefficient (Pc) of the bar magnet can be deduced via the equivalent magnetic charge method, where W, T, L, and Le is the width, thickness, physical length, and effective length of the magnet, respectively. Le served in the formula will not always be the physical length L of the bar magnet. Le of Neodymium magnet, Samarium Cobalt magnet, or ceramic magnet can be assumed to be equal with L. AlNiCo bar magnet has low coercivity and thereby shows larger μrec. Each grade of AlNiCo owns different μrec and thus exhibit separate effective length factor k. AlNiCo bar magnet is perfect in limiting self-magnetization by being longer in its magnetization direction than in the pole face dimension.
