Drone is an unmanned air vehicle which steered by radio equipment or pre-installed control program. The world’s first drone was born in the 1920s in order to fulfil the need of war. With the advancement of technology, the performance of drone continued to be improved and widely used in military and civilian use. The military drone can be served to intelligence gathering, electronic countermeasures and surveillance, thus civilian drone can be used to urban surveying, pesticide spraying and power line inspection. The drone can be classified into fixed wing drone, unmanned helicopter and multi-rotor drone according to their structure. As the mainstream platform of the military drones and most of civilian drones, the greatest feature of fixed wing drone is relatively faster flying speed. Unmanned helicopter is regarded as the most flexible drone platform due to the characteristics of vertical take-off and hover. The multi-rotor drone is the preferred platform for the consumer use because of low cost and easy operation. Its flexibility is between the fixed wing drone and unmanned helicopter. SDM has collected some experience in drone motor magnet and relevant magnetic assembly for multi-rotor drone.

About Drone Motor
Rotor wing’s speed can be changed by adjusting the speed of each motor, thus achieved changes in lift force and therefore control the flight attitude and position. The current multi-rotor drones are basically utilizes the brushless DC (BLDC) motors. The BLDC motor is composed of the permanent magnet rotor, stator with multipole windings and position sensor, then achieve electronic commuting by replacing traditional contact commutator by semiconductor switching.

Progress in Drone Motor Magnet
Drone motor magnet has the certain progress recently. Aichi Steel utilizes their advanced and creative injection molding process to realize 30% weight reduction compared to the conventional motor design. Thus support increased carrying capacity and flight time. Some users also adopt radially oriented ring magnet to instead arc shape magnets base on many advantages they claimed.

My drone is stuck to the ever since we lost this fluffy kind of thing but we do not know what it is called.
