After the president’s visit on this Monday 20th May, the trend of PrNd and DyFe material prices is like in the attached charts.

Even foreign affairs ministry said it’s only normal for the Chinese leader to pay a domestic visit and study relevant industrial policy, some analysts read as a sign that China could play the rare earth card in US clash.

At the mean time, PrNd and DyFe prices were continuously at low level till last week so that the 6 major stated-owned rare earth suppliers have a strong willingness to raise the prices, and imports of rare earth-related commodities have been halted from 15th, May by Tengchong Customs in Yunnan Province, the sole entry for rare earth shipments from Myanmar to China which may further affect the prices of medium-to-heavy rare earths, including dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide.
