The Relationship between Flux Density Waveform and Motor Performance

The relative magnetic performance of the multi-pole magnet is mainly characterized by flux density waveform. Actually, the parameters indicated by flux density waveform are closely linked to the motor performance, including the peak value, angle and cycle duty.

Flux density waveform-1

Peak value: Indicated the magnet grade and saturation degree of magnetization.

Peak value deviation: indicate the homogeneity of peak value which influences motor efficiency, cogging torque, temperature increase and noise. Can be enhanced by optimization of production technology and magnetizing fixture.

Angle deviation: influence motor efficiency, cogging torque, temperature increase and noise. Can be enhanced through optimization of production technology and magnetizing fixture.

Area and duty cycle: impact back electromotive force (BEMF), rated torque and power.
