Ι What Is AlNiCo Rod Magnet?
AlNiCo, an abbreviation for Aluminum-Nickel-Cobalt, is a non-rare earth metallic permanent magnetic material mainly consisting of Aluminum (Al), Nickel (Ni), Cobalt (Co), Iron (Fe), and trace elements like Titanium (Ti), Niobium (Nb), and Copper (Cu) to adjust coercivity. AlNiCo magnets were a leading force in the permanent magnet industry until rare earth permanent magnets emerged as a stronger alternative.
An AlNiCo rod magnet, a type of AlNiCo magnet, features a cylindrical, elongated shape, resembling disc magnets but with a longer, narrower design. Measured by length, diameter, and occasionally magnetic strength, an AlNiCo rod magnet typically has a length far exceeding its diameter.
Most AlNiCo rod magnets are produced through the casting process, primarily due to cost considerations. These magnets are widely applied in sensor applications and musical instruments, offering reliable performance across various uses.
