Cylinder Magnet

Cylinder magnet is also referred as the rod magnet. Cylinder magnets are generally specified according to the diameter (D) x length (L), where the length is equal to or exceeds the diameter. Thereby, cylinder magnets are also known as high L/D ratio magnets.

Material Classifications of Cylinder Magnet

Cylinder magnets are available in AlNiCo cylinder magnets and Neodymium cylinder magnets. AlNiCo magnet is susceptible to demagnetization owing to lower coercivity and larger μrec, therefore, a higher L/D ratio can enhance operating point on the demagnetization curve and this is the reason why AlNiCo magnet is normally long in length.
